I will never be an accountant..

I am almost finished with the FAS “Manual Bookkeeping and Payroll” online course.  

I think that I can safely say that it’s NOT going to be my chosen career. No matter how I try, I cannot get my head to accept the supposed “logic” of double entry accounting.  The whole debits and credits thing just doesnt make sense to me – it seems that whatever I think it should be, it turns out to be the opposite.  And then when you finally have it sussed – you go to do a “Trial Balance”, and it changes the rules all over again. I am sure there are loads of you out there who understand it perfectly, and maybe I will some day…

However – I am still glad that I have done the course.  I have used SAGE in the past, and this course has helped me to understand the goings on behind the scenes, as it were.  

I am also glad to have learned more about Payroll, as it may come in handy in the future if Donal ever decides to employ someone, or if I get a job where it is required.

I have two modules of the course left – and I can’t wait to get onto the next course to see if that’s any better 🙂

So next up is “Photoshop CS3” – yipee! I am downloading the trial version of CS4 right now so I can get lots of practice.
