Despite wind and heavy showers, we had a lovely morning out in the Culdaff area.. Here are a few highlights for you!
Time to post a few more photos from beautiful Donegal! As you can see, over the last couple of months, we have had a whole range of weather from snow and ice, wind and hailstones, to sunshine, lambs and spring flowers!
As always, no matter what the time of year, its just stunningly beautiful up here!
Enjoy…
A few weeks ago, I was offered an early bird trial of Blurb’s new Designer Photo Book Templates and I of course said, Yes! I definitely wanted to make myself a Blurb Designer book! It was a great opportunity to try out designing a book using the online Bookify software. I have used their Booksmart program a few times, and it is really great for being able to control every aspect of your design. But sometimes you just want a quick click and go design.
I decided to make a collection of some of the shots I have taken on my phone since moving to Donegal. I thought it would be a lovely little book to bring with me when visiting other places to show people what it is like here. SO my Blurb Designer book is a collection of photos of Donegal.
I also took the opportunity to try one of the premium paper options, and I was very impressed with the colour and quality of the print. Particularly with the pages being black, sometimes it looses out on quality - but not this time! I was really delighted with it.
If you would like to give it a go, and see how easy it is to create your own Blurb Designer Book, here is a 20% off code especially for you! DESIGNMYBOOK

Vera Bradley was founded by longtime friends, Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller. While traveling together in 1982, the friends noticed a lack of attractive luggage for women. Using their love of colors and patterns as inspiration, Barbara and Patricia decided to design and produce a line of quilted-cotton luggage, handbags and accessories.
Now Vera Bradley is happy to expand its stunning designs into the world of stationery. The Vera Bradley Collection for Tiny Prints is perfect for anyone who loves floral prints, playful patterns and dazzling color.

February has just come and gone, and despite some horrible windy weather here in Donegal at the beginning of the month, I think Spring has finally sprung! We have had some amazing sunshiny days, and of course I have been out and about with my phone taking snapshots to share with you!
During February, we also had a group of 12 people visit from Minnesota, USA. It was a lovely opportunity to show them around the beautiful Inishowen Peninsula. There also took hundreds of photos – mostly of newborn lambs I think! They had a great visit with us, and I think they would like to come back again. It’s actually good to come to Ireland in the Spring and Autumn as flight prices are usually a little bit lower than peak season. There are more and more great flight comparison sites out there like FlightNetwork.com which not only help you to find the best deal, but also have a price drop guarantee. You will also find at these times of year that holiday homes are a good bit cheaper to rent.
The last couple of weeks we have got to visit Glengad, Leenan, and a bit more of Inch Island. I also enjoyed a beautiful Sunday afternoon walk on “My Beach” (it’s what I call it as it is just across the road form our house
). So here are some of my photos from the last month. Hope you enjoy beautiful Inishowen!!
Water damage restoration Atlanta
Today we have had one of the worst storms since we came to Donegal. I have also heard reports from Georgia, USA about an unusual amount of rain that they have been having. My poor brother in law has had to rebuild a wall that he had built in the garden.
It made me think about scenes like this one on the left! Water damage restoration Atlanta
Imagine the chaos and havoc that a flood could cause your home. Water damage restoration is a real skill and something that is likely to become more and more in demand if the present weather pattern is anything to go by!
It also reminds me of the importance of having home contents insurance. Even if you think that you don’t own anything too valuable, just think of what the cost of replacing your clothes, books, kitchen items etc would be.
One of our friends moved into an apartment a while back and left it overnight with the tap on full (the water had been off for a short time so it wasn’t noticed when they left). Even though it was stopped before too much damage was done, there was still a lot of repair work to do!
Last Monday we spent a couple of hours in the beautiful gardens of Birr Castle Demesne.
For anyone visiting the area, this is well worth a visit. The gardens are relaxing and beautiful, and the museum is really interesting!
It was a lovely warm sunny afternoon, and the spring flowers were in full bloom! I was looking forward to taking out my “big” camera to get some more flower shots..
I found another great competition to enter
but I need your help…
I asked Michelle if I could use her photo below of Lily in the snow last year – the theme is “Full of Life” and it is to be a winter photo.
So the 4 photos with the most votes are judged by a panel – and the winner gets €10,000. Wow what a prize!!! So you can vote for this photo if you are in Ireland, and you can vote once per day.
SO PLEASE HELP US!!!
VOTE HERE AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN!!!
Thank you!!
We have been having one of the coldest winters ever in Ireland. The temperatures have dropped to -17 in some places, and the lowest we have seen here is about -12! Even in Malmo we would have considered that cold!
It makes life a little difficult though – some of the country roads are impossible to drive on, and as you can imagine, it’s not easy for a window cleaner to be able to work when the water just freezes on the windows!
On the upside though, we have seem some spectacular scenery – sunshine, no wind, blue skies.. and best of all, a frozen lake!!! As I was not working today, I had the chance to dig out my rarely used ice skates and take a spin on the lake! I was so excited as it has been more than 10 years since I was last ice skating. I am definitely very rusty, but I managed not to fall over at least! I think I will just have to go out again tomorrow and practice a bit more!
Enjoy some photos of Ireland in the snow… (click here for the whole gallery)
.. and also a video of me skating!!
